Graeme and Michelle Younger

KSR Managers

The KSR Managers, Graeme and Michelle, live on-site with their two children, Annabelle and Billy, and their mischief making dogs, Roger and Rosie. Graeme is a qualified teacher who previously worked for Christian College Geelong working with Year 9 students on their rural campus outside of Ballarat. Michelle is a Physiotherapist who has spent the last few years in a management position before commencing maternity leave in 2021.

They are regular at the evening meal and Graeme and Michelle are available to students for a chat, and to hear about what is going on in their lives. Graeme and Michelle are responsible for; the leadership and management of the Res. This means a lot of administrative work as well as oversight of the wellbeing of all residents and the overall community. The Managers are also responsible for liaising with parents and the Church, staffing, maintenance and financial.

Office Administrator

Hannah Constantine

Hannah Constantine is our Res Office Administrator. Some of you may have already had the pleasure of corresponding with Hannah via email and she is looking forward to meeting you in person. Outside of working at the Res, Hannah is a freelance designer and mum of 2. She lives in Hawthorn (just down the hill from Kew) and is a member of Kew Baptist Church.

Hannah works onsite at Res on Mondays, (most Wednesdays) and Thursdays. She is in charge of keeping us all in order, including the Managers! You can generally speak with either Hannah or the managers if you have any issues regarding the day-to-day running of the Res such as duty rosters, maintenance issues, liaising with the cleaners, etc. and we will do our best to help you. If you need to discuss financial matters or have questions about fees or invoices, please see Hannah.

Kitchen Coordinator aka 'Cook'

Ben Perkins

Ben Perkins will be our new Cook for 2024.

Ben is a former Ressie, having attended Kew Student Residence in 2014-15, and has since been an active member of the KSR community. He has been in the hospitality industry for the last 12 years previously working in kitchens at various cafes and restaurants in Melbourne’s Eastern suburbs.

In his spare time, Ben enjoys camping, going to the beach or going on a hike.

Ben can be found anywhere near the KSR kitchen from Monday to Friday.

Residential Life Coordinators

Will Fountain & Kisrten Clamp

The Residential Life Coordinators - or RLCs as they are more often known - assist the Managers by providing pastoral care to the residents, organising activities and having a positive presence around the place. They're here to help you settle into your new life in Melbourne and are available should you have any questions or concerns. Our RLC’s are outstanding young leaders and work closely with the Res student leaders. Should the Managers be away at any time, the RLCs assume responsibility for the Res.

This year we are very blessed to have Will Fountain (image middle) and Kirsten Clamp (image right) as our RLCs and live in The Flat (at the end of the “new side” of the building).

Kirsten is excited to be back for her second year as an RLC living in the flat. She also lived at the Res as a student in 2017-2018. The Res community played a fundamental role in her life and created some of her most cherished memories. Kirsten is in her fifth and final year of studying osteopathy at RMIT university and works as a receptionist at an allied health clinic in Canterbury. In her spare time, she loves coffee walks with friends, playing sport and reading a good book. As an RLC, Kirsten hopes to continue to support, encourage, and create a welcoming space for students as they move away from home.

Will has been involved in the Kew Baptist community since 2018, and is excited for his first year as RLC and first KSR experience for himself and his wife Caz (image left). He is in his 3rd year of Physiotherapy at La Trobe University and works in disability support. Will enjoys spending his free time playing basketball, using the gym, playing board games, watching movies, reading and spending time with Caz, family and friends.

The House

‘The House’ (at 14 Highbury Grove, a property of the Residence) is designed for people who have either lived at Res in the past or are actively involved in the Church community at Kew Baptist.

The House is a place where you can go to hang out and chat with someone. You will probably be invited around for dinner at some stage, and there will be social events held there from time to time.

Living in the House in 2024 are Rielly Black, Hannah Hobbs, Emily Brown, and Alex Donaldson and Joey Mock who are returning for a second year.

The aim is that these people will be a positive role model for students. You will often see the House members around the place, as they come over to share an evening meal or just hang out at the Res.

STUDENT LEADERS

Our student leaders are integral to life at the Res.

Having lived here for at least one year already, they are well-positioned to help new students adjust to their new life in Melbourne. You'll often find them around, facilitating events and social activities. Their role at Res is to foster a welcoming, supportive community for everyone. But more than this, Student Leaders provide leadership to the entire student body.

Student Leaders are selected because they are people who are respected by their peers, involve themselves fully in the life of the community, are willing to help out where needed and are trustworthy. Our Student Leaders for 2024 (picture coming soon!) are Indaly Sinclair, Cianna Kennedy, Caleb Spain and James Worth.

DUTY MANAGERS

The role of the Duty Manager is to oversee the practical functioning of the Residence. They have allocated times and days when they are in charge of duties and are first port of call for issues that may arise around KSR. If they can't help you, they can definitely refer you to someone who can! Among their responsibilities at Res, they lead the dinner duties and are on call until "lock up" at the end of the night.

It's really important that you respond to any requests made by a Duty Manager and remember that leading your peers in this way is never easy - so please don't make life difficult for them.

We are excited to introduce our five Duty Managers for 2024 are Olivia Brown, Ethan Suffern, Yasinta Grosser, Sabian Panozzo and Olivia Simcoe.
